Rione Junno
Rione Junno, the millennial district of Monte Sant’Angelo
We are in Monte Sant’Angelo, in the Rione Junno district of Monte Sant’Angelo.
The Rione Junno was born as a refuge for pilgrims who came on pilgrimage to the Basilica of San Michele.
Here, time seems to have stopped.

In the alleys of the district you live as you once did, of course. The Awakenings in the Junno District are something magical, which is repeated from time to time.
The slowness of the Rione brings you total relaxation, of course. Leave the phone, leave the city’s rhythms. Live Monte Sant’Angelo.
The attractions of the Rione Junno
In the district there are monuments of greater importance and history.
A few steps from the houses you will find the Basilica of San Michele, the Basilica-cave blessed directly by the Archangel Michael.
A few meters away you can visit the Lombard-Swabian-Angevin-Aragonese castle.
The name is due to the many populations that have conquered Monte Sant’Angelo in the past. The town of Gargano was located, in fact, in a highly strategic position.
In fact, from the height of its 850 meters it was possible to discover enemy attacks and prepare a timely defense. A stone’s throw from the Casette nel Rione, you can visit the M.E.T.A., an ethnological museum of traditions dedicated to the famous Giovanni Tancredi historian.
Tancredi had studied the traditions of the Gargano throughout his life. He had collected everything in some books and today this museum was dedicated to him.
Entrance to the M.E.T.A. it’s completely free.
